Sunday Snippet: Night

So much is going on, it's exciting! But as Ro reminded me, I already skipped last week... so I threw together a quick snippet for you.

Sunday Snippet: Missing You

This was supposed to originally be for a prompt project I'm working on this month, but it fell off the bandwagon. Since - after counting - it turned out to be six sentences long, I saved it for today.

Sunday Snippet: Trade Secrets (Plus note)

The following snippet comes from a story I wrote for a prompt-fiction project. I'm feeling particularly lazy today, so I'm offering this up as a peace offering.
Why? Because I have no clue if I updated last week.

Sunday Snippet: Perfection

And who let Sunday come back so quickly? Man, I was not ready for it!

Nonetheless, here you go!

Sunday Snippet: Scent

Well, it's that time again! And this one I've had ready for a few days, even! Woo, look at me, getting ahead of the game.

This one is odd, to say the least. Let's see what you make of it.

Sunday Snippet: Out of Time

Another Sunday, another snippet.

This one's inspired by a common event I suffer through each day, and I'm sure I'm not the only one to have gone through this. Hope it brings a smile to your face, if you've ever been in this situation!

Sunday Snippet: Marked

So as I was wracking my brain, trying to think of a snippet to write (as I already missed last week...) Ro tossed out an idea.

I thought it was brilliant, so I rolled with it.

And without further ado, here you go!

Sunday Snippet: Beast

How do you perceive things? It’s easy to see in the words you choose to describe it with. Below is an example of a woman’s reaction to a vicious-looking family pet. What can you pull of her personality from just six sentences?

Sunday Snippet: The Essence of Wrath

So there's still two hours before it's Monday (for me, at least) so I'm going to get this done on time! I have been working hard on my rough draft, as I set a deadline for myself (more details about that coming up on the blog) and am working to make it.

But as I was writing, a sentence popped out of nowhere, startling me. It stared at me, letting me know that this is the key sentence to my entire character. Matt's personality, morals, loyalty, and dedication are all summed up in this sentence, and I believe it will be the one on my dust cover.

But as this is a Six Sentence Snippet, I will add the entire scene the sentence popped up in. It will the the last sentence, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I am right now.

Writer's Insomnia

I'm sure you've been there before, where thoughts keep going through your mind over and over and keep you awake. Sometimes it's about worries, family, excitement...

Mine tend to happen because my characters can't be polite enough to stop yelling at me.

Sunday Snippet: Wrath

Another Sunday, another Snippet! Below is a snippet from Wrath, which has taken off tremendously since a disastrous phone call during work. While on hold for an hour, I plotted for Children of Sin.

Sunday Snippet: Wrath

So, I must once again blame C.R. Trumbo for this idea. She's a lot more dedicated to updating her blog than I (every day! It's nuts!!) and she has a running theme going on. Her's is called "Short Snippet Sunday," which I find amusing because of the name of my blog. But as a fellow blogger, writer, and reader, I figure I'll jump on board.

Snippet: Children of Sin

So I've mentioned this before, a while ago now, but I'm working on an original book. I put it on the back-burner while class picked up and real life came and invaded my free-time, but Ro (the wonderful woman she is) kicked my ass back into gear; I wrote the first draft for over five chapters last weekend.

Rice Chips

It must be something in my rather disgusting bag of rice chips that got my brain thinking today. I ended up writing out a large section of Wrath that doesn't take place for quite a while! I also finally typed up the opening lines for Wrath as well.

Daydreaming

I find that much time is spent waiting for things in life to happen. So instead of mindlessly staring at the floor or a wall it would be a great time to daydream! I often find the most common thoughts to be along the lines of current or possible stories that I've been working on.

Greetings, Taste Testing

Hi! I figured with it being midnight and having nothing to do (why sleep?) I should design a blog. Sounds weird? Well, this is how I do things :)
