Sunday Snippet: Matt

Another week goes by, and once again it's Sunday. So, without further ado, let's get this thing started!

Today's snippet features the one and only Matt, who we're all getting to know better as time goes on. This is a scene that shows that Matt, despite all of his power, isn't as strong as he wishes he could be.

Dreadline

So I mentioned it briefly in last week's Sunday Snippet that I set a deadline for my novel, Wrath. Or, as I wrote in the title, a Dreadline. It's the date that I dread to pass without significant progress.

I self-publish, so you might ask why I set a Dreadline. It's not like I have anyone to answer to, if I miss it. Well, I'll sum it up briefly.

Sunday Snippet: The Essence of Wrath

So there's still two hours before it's Monday (for me, at least) so I'm going to get this done on time! I have been working hard on my rough draft, as I set a deadline for myself (more details about that coming up on the blog) and am working to make it.

But as I was writing, a sentence popped out of nowhere, startling me. It stared at me, letting me know that this is the key sentence to my entire character. Matt's personality, morals, loyalty, and dedication are all summed up in this sentence, and I believe it will be the one on my dust cover.

But as this is a Six Sentence Snippet, I will add the entire scene the sentence popped up in. It will the the last sentence, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I am right now.

Sunday Snippet: Double Shot

It was to my dismay that I realized I had forgotten to put up a Sunday Snippet last week. So I'll be giving you a double shot of Snippets in one post!

Sunday Snippet: Wrath

Another Sunday, another Snippet! Below is a snippet from Wrath, which has taken off tremendously since a disastrous phone call during work. While on hold for an hour, I plotted for Children of Sin.

Sunday Snippet: Wrath

So, I must once again blame C.R. Trumbo for this idea. She's a lot more dedicated to updating her blog than I (every day! It's nuts!!) and she has a running theme going on. Her's is called "Short Snippet Sunday," which I find amusing because of the name of my blog. But as a fellow blogger, writer, and reader, I figure I'll jump on board.

Meter-Reader

So I blame C.R. Trumbo for this latest tweak on the website. If you look over to your right, there will be a red bar, reading 2/13 finished chapters for Wrath. I'll be updating that as I go along, so if you see it stop moving for a bit, give me a nudge and tell me to get a move on it already!

Just a quick note, please go about your day!

Pushing Onward

As you can probably tell from looking at your calendar, November's over. I've also mentioned this a couple times too, now that I think of it. But November was a lifechanging month for me, in more ways than one.

Daydreaming

I find that much time is spent waiting for things in life to happen. So instead of mindlessly staring at the floor or a wall it would be a great time to daydream! I often find the most common thoughts to be along the lines of current or possible stories that I've been working on.

Greed, Lust, Wrath, and Wes

So far I have four children, the oldest at 22, and the youngest barely turned 3. Here are some of my 'family pictures' that I had during my latest 'Art Attack' (as I fondly name the times where I feel like drawing).

Writing the Family

Anyone who knows me will know that children and I are not compatible. Oil and water is a good way to describe our interactions (yet I provide childcare?)  but I do feel that when I create a character I become a new parent. Yes, they aren't alive, they will grow how I please, and they don't actually exist, but I start to 'get to know' my new character and bond.

The Birth of The Seven Deadly Sins

I don't consider myself a very religious person, yet the idea of the Seven Deadly Sins always was a source of fascination for me. A series I enjoy goes into these sins greatly and I always love reading it, so one day while I was daydreaming and flirting with my editor I thought of a single phrase. This phrase compounded into an idea for a book, which then turned into an idea for a series. I can honestly say this is the first time I had a title before I had a plot!

Greetings, Taste Testing

Hi! I figured with it being midnight and having nothing to do (why sleep?) I should design a blog. Sounds weird? Well, this is how I do things :)
